Does Coaching Help with ADHD?
Yes! Coaching helps students with ADHD tremendously.
ADHD is a neurobiological condition. As a Coach specifically educated in ADHD Coaching, I am trained and knowledgeable about the symptoms, the latest research, and the most effective treatment plans in working with people with ADHD, Executive Function disorders, and related issues.
Widely respected organizations and individuals including the National Institute of Mental Health, Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD), Russell Barkley (ADHD: A Handbook for Diagnosis and Treatment), and Edward Hallowell (Driven to Distraction) have endorsed Coaching as a vital missing link for achieving success.
As a Coach specifically trained in coaching parents and teens with ADHD, I can:
* Provide you and your family with education and support to begin to reduce the blame, pessimism and stress that so often exists for the ADHD student and their family.
* Identify needs, set goals and build strategies necessary to compensate for their difficulties, and help students learn to use their ADHD as their STRENGTH.
* Teach techniques for maintaining focus, staying on task, and improving time management and organizational skills.
* Consult with your other professionals (teachers, therapists, psychiatrists) to ensure that we are all working effectively and in unison on your behalf.
The world of ADHD is complex.
Find your strength and your gift in your ADHD!
In the midst of all the chaos swirling through your brain, all the disorganization and impulsiveness, the condition (ADHD) also seems to trigger a certain kind of creativity.
